I just discovered that the beautiful day lilies in my backyard make for good eats! I ate one raw the other day and it’s quite good! I read someone describe it as being similar to asparagus, so I cooked some up to supplement asparagus with tonight’s meal. I plucked a bowlful of big flower buds, tossed them in a little olive oil, salt, and pepper, and grilled them up quickly. They blended right in with the asparagus, with a softer texture. Good stuff!
