I found a small patch of Cinnabar-Red Chanterelles today. I cooked up a few of them to try out. They had a tame mushroom flavor and texture. I could enjoy a bowl full of them, although these brilliant red mushrooms provide more of a feast for the eyes than for the mouth. They would be a colorful addition to a recipe that calls for wild mushrooms.
When searching for these mushrooms, one must always be careful to not accidentally confuse it with the cinnabar-red supervillain.
