BSOD Problems
- I'm currently not using the built-in speaker, and the camera is working w/2 Windows computers.
Applications
- Windows Messenger - works really really well
- Through firewalls
- Past NAT's
- With sound (Make a "Video call")
- Uses the Logitech built-in speaker
- I just gotta make sure I turn off echo cancelling!
- Logitech Quickcam (window)
- Settings (gears icon)
- Click on the microphone icon
- Uncheck "Cancel Echo"
- It STILL crashes... Try unchecking the other one below Cancel Echo.
Mindy's PC (Windows)
- Windows Live Messenger 8
- Seemed to work during video chatting w/walkie-talkie sound
- BSOD when I tried a video call
- Netmeeting
- Seemed to work fine (at least it ran & accessed the webcam)
- BSOD when I finally connected to it (From Linux/Ekiga)
- Ekiga
- Try uninstalling software and installing from the cd!
t43p (Windows)
- Windows Live Messenger 8
- Worked during chatting w/video & walkie-talkie sound
- Netmeeting
- Ekiga
- This worked pretty nicely (until the BSOD of course - it lasted a couple of minutes)
t43p (Linux)
- Installed kernel headers and uvc driver via:
- It wasn't working, but then I updated the kernel and rebooted and it worked in Ekiga and luvcview
- On my desktop, the compiled kernel module wouldn't load...??? Maybe 'cause of gcc version difference... I grabbed it from laptop
- Don't forget to use v4l2
- Ekiga
- I called Mindy's PC running NetMeeting using h323:192.168.2.101
- Try calling Mindy's PC running Windows Messenger using sip:192.168.2.101
- Linux Ekiga<->Linux Ekiga mostly worked. It was a little flaky - sometimes Ekiga would stop being able to access the video input. Sometimes it would come back, sometimes I seemed to need to reboot to get it back.
- I think it needs to be plugged in after bootup (or unplugged & replugged)
