Table

  • Beautiful natural cherry hardwood dining table, custom made, 39 x 75 with 12" leaf extension. The natural colors of the cherry hardwood are absolutely stunning. No harsh or dark stains, just natural glow of the wood. Includes 6 arm chairs with brown leather seats and backs.
  • Cherry’s Aging Process - When your new piece of ... furniture arrives, it will have a light, golden tone. Over the next 12 months the color will darken to a rich, red-brown. Darkening occurs gradually, as the furniture is exposed to light. These photographs illustrate the difference between a brand new tabletop and one that is a year old.
    • Rich, reddish-brown. Cherry darkens considerably with age and exposure to sunlight.
    • Light, strong, stiff and rather hard. Cherry's grain is more subdued than some other hardwood species, with very interesting character.
    • Cherry is unsurpassed in its finishing qualities-its uniform texture takes a finish very well.
    • In the raised panel section, there are two "stripes" of sapwood running vertically. Sapwood turns a "toasted marshmallow" shade of brown as it ages and contrasts the heartwood nicely. You can use the contrast to your advantage when you design a piece.
