          • the solution for me was a couple of grounding screws on the circuit board to the case were loose. tightened them up and its been doing great ever since. if anyone else wants help with their teac 8900 that may have this problem, email me at [...]. hit told me that it was a bad connection somewhere usually caused by a loose ground screw or by a bad solder somewhere. in my case it was loose ground screws on the main circuit board (two of them).
        • Check the thermal sensor, TH1. This causes the unit to go into protect, it is a common failure part on this model. (different model)
        • Vince, wire in a Type 'J' thermocouple in place of the original, maybe? I think it's a J. (different model)
        • I did notice that the fan wasn't spinning. Does anyone know if it only goes on at a certain temperature or should it be running all the time when powered up? (different model)
        • Hi Vince and Ronald, I am asumming you both hit the reset switch a few times to see if the rec would clear the trouble? I had the same thing happen, but cleared after resetting. The fan is temp. controlled. Roy
