- Fish everywhere, "I finally get a hard tug. I let the line go, slowly count to 10, and set the hook with a hard yank."
- If there're not biting one place, head somewhere else.

- Squibnocket - Big surf!
- Menemsha
- Fish the white water. White water is a striped bass magnet. Try timing your casts so that your plug or eel is just following behind the wash.
- Pack light, take only what you need, and keep moving - fish different spots, unless you hit a spot that is producing.
- Look for anomolies - lonely boulder, change in contour, where dirty water meets clean.
- North shore - Better night/early morning - lots of private property, it's tough to get access. Lots of rought rocks and boulders, deep water, strong current. Good fishing, but difficult.
- Great Rock Bight in Chilmark (Land Bank see website for directions).
- Good daytime bluefishing closer to Tashmoo
- Because of the rocky terrain, lures will easily get hung up - boulder fields, mussel beds, rocky bottoms. Eels will outfish any other bait or lure.
- Chappaquiddick
- Tiny Island off the southeastern tip of Martha's Vineyard - on Time Ferry out of Edgartown.
- Lures: Hogy, Danny-style plug, or plastic swimmer like a bomber or a redfin.
- You usually want an incoming (east) tide with fishing East Beach (Dike Bridge, Jetties, Cape Poge Lighthouse, and the Gut)
- Southern Part of Chappy (Wasque Point, Northern Point, and the Cut) - Outgoing (west) tide.%
