- The printer drivers were built-in, but it was a little wacky installing them.
- Settings-Printing->Add
- LPD, enter ip address and make up a queue name
- It starts auto searching for a driver. Give it a few seconds, then cancel. It should bring up a window where you can select the driver. (If not, close/kill everything and start over - I saw windows lock up on me a few times). The exact driver was in the Brother list
Gutsy
- install brhl2070nlpr_1.1.2-3_i386.deb
- install cupswrapperhl2070n_1.0.0-1_i386.deb
- System->Administration->Printing
- New Printer
- LPD/LPR Host or Printer
- 192.168.2.190
- Brother HL-2070N
- when choosing a printer model, don't choose any of the options. instead, there's a place for you to set up using a PPD driver, and browse to /usr/share/cups/model/HL2070N.ppd
- configure the Printer options, switch from A4 to letter.
- print test page, and it worked for me!
