      • Little Clear Pond, Little Green Pond, and their tributaries Fishing prohibited
  • "The best fishing is in the evening until well after dark for the drake hatches on most of the ponds."
  • Any trout-fishing technique will work in St. Regis ponds, but the most popular among local anglers is trolling a Lake Clear Wabbler with a trailing nightcrawler or streamer fly.
  • Because leeches abound in these waters, fly fishers have excellent luck with woolly buggers.
  • Spin casters can entice strikes by tossing their favorite spinners or spoons.
  • Anglers should note that the use of live baitfish is prohibited within the boundaries of the St. Regis Canoe Area, and that no fishing is allowed in Little Green and Little Clear because they hold brood stock for the nearby Saranac Inn State Fish Hatchery.
  • swivels on each end of the wabbler blade to help relief the line twist...seems to be working nicely(no more twists).....and then go with 16-20" of leader from wabbler to the hook
  • Hook size = #6 for most adk ponds and one size bigger if chasing lakers.
  • Try to keep the worm whole, unless its a very large nightcrawler
  • hook it through its collar towards the head...this end should be the only part threaded onto the hook....leave the rest of its body tailing behind...if its way too long say ,4-6"`s long, just pinch alittle off
